Calendar Color Rules

Calendar Color Rules is a Chrome extension published by an independent developer. It lets you color events on calendar.google.com automatically, using keyword-based rules you define, plus optional manual per-event colors, a default color for unmatched events, and a focus mode that dims everything but a chosen rule.

The short version: the extension has no backend server. Everything it does happens locally, inside your own browser. This policy explains exactly what that means in practice.

The extension never reads your name, email address, calendar guest lists, event descriptions, attachments, or location data. It has no mechanism to transmit anything to us or to any third party, because it makes no network requests at all.

Chrome requires every extension to declare its permissions up front. Here is exactly what each one is used for:

The extension links out to two external, optional destinations. Neither is contacted automatically — only if you choose to click.

• Donations, via Stripe. The "Support this extension" button opens a Stripe-hosted payment page in a new tab. Any payment information you enter there is handled directly by Stripe under Stripe's own privacy policy — we never see your card details.
• Feature suggestions, via email. The "Suggest a feature" link opens a pre-filled draft in your own email application. Nothing is sent unless you press send yourself, and the message goes directly to our inbox — not through any intermediary.

Your rules and settings live in chrome.storage.sync, which Chrome stores locally and syncs across your own devices using your Google account — the same mechanism Chrome uses for your bookmarks or browser settings. We have no copy of it, no way to read it, and no way to recover it if you clear it yourself.

Uninstalling the extension removes this data per Chrome's standard behavior for synced extension storage.

Calendar Color Rules is a general-audience productivity tool, not directed at children, and is not knowingly used to collect information from anyone — children included, since no information is collected from any user.

If this policy changes, the update will be posted at this same address with a new effective date above. Since the extension's data practices are unlikely to change without a major feature shift, we don't expect frequent revisions — but we'll keep this page current if they do.
